The Telegraph is reporting that Amazon is expanding in the UK almost as fast as in the US.
Amazon will soon be operating a new 700,000 sq. ft facility in Rugeley, Staffordshire. It’s due to open in September and when fully staffed it will employ 900 people. The new positions will be a mixture of part-time and full-time jobs.
Arthur Valdez, vice-president of operations at Amazon.co.uk, said: “The centre at Rugeley will play an important role in fulfilling orders for customers in the UK, Europe and all over the world.”
This is Amazon’s second new distribution center in the UK this year. Amazon has announced plans to open a 1 million sq. ft facility in Dunfermline before the end of the year. The new distribution center will create 750 new full-time and up to 1,500 part-time jobs.
