Amazon has announced a Kindle app for webOS tablets, which was created for HP’s new webOS TouchPad.
Amazon demonstrated the new app today at HP’s press conference announcing the new HP TouchPad. Jon Oakes, director, TouchPad Product Marketing, HP, issued this statement: “We’re working with Amazon to bring HP customers the free Kindle app and, along with it, the largest selection of the most popular books. TouchPad’s beautiful, fully featured Kindle app supports the Kindle features users already know and love, and it’s one of the first Kindle applications to support the latest Kindle features like Collections.”
HP is launching the Touchpad today. The device is a 9.7″ (1024×768) tablet running WebOS on a 1.2GHz Qualcomm CPU. It has Wifi, Bluetooth, a capacitive touchscreen, and 8 hours battery life.
