Amazon released its quarterly earnings results today and revealed that the Kindle Fire remains its bestselling product of all items available on Amazon.com since launch. In addition, during the first quarter of 2012, 90 percent of the top selling products from Amazon.com were digital products, which the company defines as “Kindle, Kindle books, movies, music and apps.”
Here is more from the press release: “Net sales increased 34% to $13.18 billion in the first quarter, compared with $9.86 billion in first quarter 2011. Excluding the$56 million unfavorable impact from year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates throughout the quarter, net sales would have grown 34% compared with first quarter 2011.”
Amazon also reported that sales of “Worldwide Electronics and Other General Merchandise” grew 43% during the quarter to $7.97 billion.
