Aluratek to Ship Android Based eReader

A new eReader popped up on Aluratek’s retail website this past week, but I wouldn’t get to attached to it. According to my sources with Aluratek, the Libre Color Touch is undergoing a major reconsideration. It sounds like Aluratek will be releasing an Android based eReader, just maybe not this particular one.

With that in mind, let’s have a look at it. You might recognize this as looking like one I showed you last month. This eReader is also the Gajah BK7005, and it’s one  saw at CES 2011.

It has a 7″ (800×480) resistive touchscreen, Wifi, 2GB Flash, and SD card slot. According to Aluratek, this eReader will ship with a web browser and email client. It also supports DRMed eBooks in Epub and PDF.

List price is $149, and it’s supposed to ship in a couple weeks.
