Align Launches Horoscope-Based Dating App on iOS

The app identifies new matches each day based on each user's astrological sign.

Align has announced the official release of its iOS dating app for Millennials, which was built to determine user compatibility based on astrological signs.

The app was originally released in Los Angeles, and has now expanded into New York City and San Francisco.

To use Align, users login with Facebook and enter their birth date. The app determines their astrological sign and shows them a list of traits and emoji which correspond with that sign.

Users select the six items they relate to most, which are featured on their Align profile.

Each day, Align gives users a constellation containing five unique user matches. Users can view compatibility reports for these matches, which are specific to their two astrological signs (the size of the match’s profile picture in the constellation also relates to their compatibility). When a user expresses interest in a match, the second user must also choose to connect before they can begin chatting through in-app private messaging.

In a statement, Aliza Kelly Faragher, co-founder of Align, commented:

Over 45 million Millennials believe in astrology. Astrology is not a niche market, it is a cultural movement, and Align provides today’s singles with the platform they need to make meaningful connections.

Align is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
