A documentary by Al Jazeera English won the Jack Howard Award for Television/Cable In-Depth Reporting today.
The documentary “Bahrain: Shouting in the Dark” was first broadcast in April last year and tells the story of the Arab revolution that was hampered by the Saudi military.
“It is deeply encouraging that the film is winning accolades in the U.S. and strengthens our commitment to providing in depth and eye witness programs for our growing audiences in the U.S. and worldwide,” said Paul Eedle, Director of Programme for Al Jazeera English, in a release.
The Jack Howard Award is presented by the Scripps Howard Foundation. Mike Phillips, the Foundation’s CEO, said, “We are extremely proud to honor Al Jazeera English for reporting what our judges cited as ‘a testament to the power of journalism.”
