It was just a few months ago that A.J. Daulerio vacated the EIC position at Gawker and was replaced by John Cook. This week comes word that Daulerio will soon be taking on a high-level three-month consulting gig with BuzzMedia. The move was announced Wednesday on the west coast and again last night at an all-hands NYC BuzzMedia meeting.
Our sources tell us Daulerio will work closely with executive vice president of programming Mike Porath to devise a cohesive new battle plan for the company’s portfolio of websites. BuzzMedia currently operates a staggering 40+ different Web properties.
Porath has an impressive background. Before joining BuzzMedia, he was the editor-in-chief of AOL News as well as an ABC News-pioneering overseas digital reporter, working out of Kosovo.
There is no doubt that BuzzMedia is a bi-coastal company currently in full flux. There was a recent round of major layoffs and just yesterday, as we reported, Celebuzz senior TV writer Jethro Nededog was officially announced by TheWrap as joining the trade in the same capacity beginning April 1.
