Adam Sandler’s acting career has reached a new low.
The 2012 Razzie nominations were released on the eve of the Academy Awards, and Sandler led the way with a record 11 nods scattered over three films — Jack and Jill, Just Go with It and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.
(OK, how many of you have seen one of these three movies? We won’t judge.)
Sandler shattered Eddie Murphy’s previous record of five nominations in 2007 for Norbit. And in a unique twist, Sandler was nominated for worst actor and worst actress for playing Jack and Jill Sadelstein.
“It’s almost karmic for someone to have made that much razz-able stuff in one year,” Razzies founder John Wilson told the Associated Press. “He has angered someone really powerful, I would say.”
