FishbowlDC‘s eagle eyes caught an interview in the (subscription-only) National Journal Hotline with Times national political correspondent Adam Nagourney. They were kind enough to reprint the highlights:
What was your first job?
Making fishamajigs at McDonalds on the Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck, New York. I was fired after I think two weeks by some guy name George who I still hate. I think it was one of the most formative episodes of my life, career-wise; I’m still fearful of getting that walk back to the parking lot on a cold December night. Not kidding; ask my editor.
What’s your most embarrassing on-the-job moment? (Or as embarrassing as you’d like to reveal?)
Google Gardner and Nagourney. …
If you could have any other job besides the one you have now, what would it be?
I want that McDonald’s job back.
FBDC interviewed Nagourney a few months back as well.
