ABC wants to lure consumers away from their TVs and onto their computers and phones. The network has revamped its streaming service and app and added seven new shows to its lineup.
The service’s new shows include All My Gay Friends are Getting Married starring Michelle Collins; Boondoogle, starring Ty Burrell; Forever 31, starring Iliza Shlesinger, and more. ABC will also stream full seasons of past shows, including Detroit, 8 Simple Rules, Ellen, Felicity and Ugly Betty.
What separates ABC’s streaming offerings from the rest? It’s free. At least for now, the service is completely ad-supported.
“We hope this will be an opportunity for our existing talent to flex their creative muscles, and also an opportunity for audiences to discover and champion new emerging content creators,” said Samie Falvey, executive vp of comedy and international scripted development, ABC Entertainment, in a statement.
