Vanity Fair Contributing Editor Dee Dee Myers, the first female White House Press Secretary and author of NYT bestseller Why Women Should Rule the World, and her sister, Betsy Myers, senior adviser to Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign and Obama’s COO, are launching a new book: Take the Lead: Motivate, Inspire, and Bring Out the Best in Yourself and Everyone Around You.
The “superstar sisters” will be together for what is being dubbed a “rare joint sister appearance” and book launch this Friday at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Tyson’s Corner. The event, hosted by executive women’s organization Success in the City, is sold out, but there’s still room for media.
How did those tickets disappear like hotcakes? “Before we could even get this event up on the website, a savvy sponsor acted fast and purchased half our tickets (those smart cookies),” the host site explains. “That means there is very limited seating for this once-in-a-life-time event. We expect this event to sell out in days (if not hours) so don’t wait to reserve your seat.”
They also know that the Myers sisters, despite being “superstars”, may not be known by all. They write, “On the off chance that you don’t know who these high-level women are, we’ve attached highlights.”
One of the sponsors is Pillsbury so the event might involve those famous crescent rolls along with the obvious morning coffee. The publicist didn’t deny it.
