A History Of Twitter's Acquisitions

Over the past six years, Twitter has acquired no less than 19 companies. Some acquisitions, like TweetDeck, made a huge splash in the Twitter-related news-sphere, while others were more quietly done.

Here’s a look at Twitter’s acquisition history from 2008 to today.

Kin Lane (@KinLane) of API Voice put together a list of all of Twitter’s acquisitions on his blog while researching the company.

Although it was founded in 2006, Twitter didn’t make its first acquisition until 2008, two years later.

This first acquisition was Summize, a search engine that Twitter turned into what we now know as search.twitter.com.
