A Crackpot’s Attempt at Crime Reporting

The Georgetown Dish is nothing if not aggressive in its crime reporting. In today’s edition of the online rag, author Watched Pot (Journalism is a big tent, what can we say?) goes all out for a crime story.

Days after a taxi cab careened and crashed along P Street, U.S. Park Police raced into Montrose Park Tuesday, chasing a “drunk and disorderly” man into the woods. According to a park policeman who spoke to The Georgetown Dish, it was “white male in a white shirt.” At least four policeman gave chase, but the suspect got away, leaving dogs and their owners left to wonder.

We especially love how dogged Watched Pot is in his or her reporting. Hands down favorite line: “According to a park policeman who spoke to The Georgetown Dish, it was ‘white male in a white shirt.'” A few more seconds there and we may have gotten the color of the drunk’s socks (presumably white) and tongue (also believed to be strangely white).
