A Buddha Blessing for DC Mag's New Issue

New “it” spot Buddha Bar helped DC magazine publisher Peter Abrahams and EIC Karen Sommer Shalett roll out their latest issue with a swanky party last night. The palatial dining room with grand chandeliers, an 18-foot Buddha statue and glowing DJ booth made for an exotic and fitting setting to celebrate the magazine’s travel issue.
Guests like Project Beltway’s Rachel Cothran, PR guy Peter Mirijanian and Washington’s pied piper of single ladies, Andy Baldwin noshed on sushi and other Asian delicacies while pretty bar tenders served a packed house an array of specialty cocktails from an open bar.
Last night was the 4th and Mass St NW lounge’s third night of grand opening celebrations that began on Tuesday with a Washington Life party.
