A Bloody Birthday Affair
Karen Sommer-Shallet, Editor-in-Chief of DC Magazine, had a big splashy bloody day Thursday. As part of the Bethesda Row Literary Festival, last night she had a book signing for the True Blood Cookbook she co-wrote with Alan Ball and Giana Sobol. Thursday also happened to be her birthday.
Dessert options for her from her own cookbook: Blood red gelato, Seeing Red Bundt cake, Last Rites pecan pie or the Totally Surprised birthday cake.
In addition to Sommer-Shallet, the festival will include author Michael Wilbon for The Greatest American Sportswriting, which he’ll be signing at Equinox, and “Law & Order: SVU” star Richard Belzer for his government conspiracy book Dead Wrong.
