3M Cloud Library PC App Now Available

3M is a relative newcomer to the library eBook market, but they’re catching up fast to OverDrive and the other big boys.

A couple months back 3M released iOS and Android reading apps, thus enabling library patrons to check out and read library eBooks on the device they already own. That’s good, but surveys have shown that the most common reading device is the PC, so today I am pleased to tell you that 3M has also released a PC app.

The app runs on Windows 7, Vista, and XP, and it works with all of 3M’s current 40 odd library partners. It’s in beta, so it might crash on you. And you will need a library card from one of the partners in order to use the app.

You can find the app on the Kansas State Library website. 3M hasn’t finished the download page yet; that will be likely be ready when the app is out of beta.
