3G PMP Expected from Archos by Year-end

French portable media player maker Archos is developing a model that will run on a 3G network, Pocket-lint reports. The company has reportedly teamed with French mobile operator SFR to add 3G + HSPA data modems into future PMPs.

Archos, which was among the first to market with handheld digital video players, already offers several Wi-Fi-enabled PMPs.

Although Archos and SFR issued a joint announcement in France, Pocket-lint says the companies haven’t provided any real details about the future products.
