1M Users Stuck on GetGlue

For those who thought collecting stickers died with the discontinuation of Wacky Packages, think again: On the same day it announced a partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival, entertainment-based social network GetGlue also topped the 1 million user mark.

GetGlue launched as an iPhone app in June 2010. In addition to topping 1 million users, it also surpassed 100 million data points, or connections between users and consumed media.

The social network said it currently averages more than 1 check-in every second, with that number reaching 10 during primetime, when 3 percent-20 percent of Tweets related to TV shows originate from GetGlue.

GetGlue added that 35 networks, 10 movie studios, and five music labels and management companies have offered rewards to GetGlue users, and promoted brands since its launch have included Glee, The Office, True Blood, Dexter, Psych, Justified, Jersey Shore, Conan, Ellen, Mythbusters, Pretty Little Liars, NOVA, Mad Men, Ghost Hunters, Southland,...
