If you updated your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to iOS 4.2.1 this week, you may have noticed the new AirPrint feature. You may also have wondered which printers you can actually print to using this feature. HP says that:
HP’s existing and upcoming ePrint enabled printers are the only printers to support direct printing from Apple iOS devices – no other printer company offers this capability.
HP lists a total of 18 printers in three product groups: Photosmart e-AiO, LaserJet Pro, and OfficeJet. The 7 PhotoSmart printers listed are AirPrint compatible out of the box. The 5 LaserJet Pro printers “may require a firmware upgrade.” A firmware upgrade for the 6 Officejet e-AiO printers will be available on December 27.
