I’ve seen some cheesy promotions, but this is ridiculous. Actually, the idea of a Vermont Cheese Trail makes sense. Fromage is one of the Green Mountain State’s key exports, and the place boasts plenty of bucolic trails to be trekked. Besides, Massachusetts already has the Freedom Trail, so our underpopulated neighbor to the north had to come up with something different. From the Web site: “En route you see beautiful places, meet interesting people”—though the materials show mostly cows and sheep—“and get to savor that marriage of art and science called cheese.”
