Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the surprisingly upbeat comedy that gave the charming Ellie Kemper a starring role, will return later this spring. But we've already got a treat from the arguably the sitcom's biggest breakout star, Tituss Burgess.
And that treat is wine.
Burgess, who plays Kimmy's roommate Titus Andromedon, announced that he's launching his own brand of pinot noir. Why red wine, you may ask? If you've seen the show, you'll remember that Burgess' character films a wonderfully bizarre music video, "Peeno Noir," which is "an ode to black penis."
So, it's not surprising that Burgess would settle on wine as a way to capitalize on fans' love of the music video.
Pinot by Tituss is meant "to be enjoyed by all the fabulous Kings and Kweens," said Burgess in a statement. "Pinot makes things fun."
The wine is a 2014 Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir that's ready to drink now, according to a release. It has "aromas of dried fruits, slate, subtle rosemary, coriander and roses [which] lead to flavors of plum and black cherry cola. Tones of toasted oak and leather delicately dance on the palate."
Burgess partnered with Anthony Allport, the owner of the Fine Wine Agency, Bespoke Wine Services and Fun Wine Co. for the Pinot Noir project.
Interested fans can purchase the Pinot by Tituss on the brand's website.
