The two hapless guys starring in Schlage's new ad campaign—for the lock company's electronic entry devices—need more than keyless technology to turn their luck around. Guy No. 1 needs a better screening process for his friends, after his Frisbee-throwing buddy wings his car keys down a storm drain and then runs off like a douche without helping to retrieve them. Guy No. 2, locked out of the house after a business trip, needs to get back to the gym. Tubby can't even climb through his own window. The new spots, from Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis, do make the point about our reliance on our keys and our abject frustration and panic when they're lost. But their spokescharacters, alas, have bigger problems.
