Salvador Dali commercials are works of art

When Salvador Dali wasn’t painting things in the process of melting, he was quite the commercial pitchman, as these spots for Alka-Seltzer, Lanvin Chocolates and Veterano brandy illustrate. Having never seen what Dali looked like until now, I’m amused by his resemblance to Snidely Whiplash, but these ads disturb me in a way. It’s like hearing Tom Wolfe read an essay about how fruity Skittles are or something (although that would be a marked improvement over what he’s been writing lately).
