Moody, monochrome photography. Futuristic cars. An overwrought soundtrack. Three dweebs splashing around salaciously in an ornate pool. A woman breathlessly relating her dreams of luxury, status and one brand's power to transcend space and time. Such is this sendup of pretentious advertising by comedy team The Lonely Island—featuring Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, who appear in the spot. It's also a real commercial for Rokk vodka. Some might find it an amusing bit of social satire that successfully skewers overblown ads. Others will view it as under-done and less outlandish than the genre it lampoons. As for the burly Viking dousing the dudes with a garden hose, well, I think everyone can enjoy that.
