I never thought the Queen of England would have to suffer the indignity of placing a help-wanted ad, but apparently the chance to make £14,200 a year washing her dishes won't sell itself. The vacancy for a "General Catering Assistant (Wash Up)" was posted on the royal website not long ago. Interested candidates have only a few more days to send in their résumés—the offer closes Jan. 15. Whoever lands the job will spend 40 hours a week in the kitchens of Buckingham Palace, Windsor, Sandringham, Balmoral and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, as needed, and must have "a flexible and willing attitude."
