Apparently, the French do get fat. The land of cheese and cigarettes is getting bigger around the waistline, according to this story in the International Herald Tribune. It seems that despite the popularity of French Women Don’t Get Fat, there is plenty of junk in the French trunk, particularly among the young. The predictable villain: the Royale with cheese and le Big Mac. Still, as a point of nationalistic pride, AdFreak would like to point out that our Gallic friends have some ways to go to catch up with Americans: 11 percent of French are considered obese, versus more than 50 percent of our countrymen.
