Models' images retouched for cosmetics ads? No. Freaking. Way. It's true! And the U.K.'s ad watchdog is having none of it, banishing separate L'Oréal ads featuring Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington from British magazines. The ads were deemed misleading, per the Advertising Standards Authority, which says: "L'Oréal weren't able to provide evidence to show that without additional manipulation they were able to achieve that look." Of course, the ads weren't misleading in the slightest, since everyone with enough IQ points to properly operate a magazine surely knows such images are routinely altered, sweetened and enhanced.
