Crew wasn't fazed by last month's Toenailgate, in which a conservative columnist accused the retailer of "blatant propaganda celebrating transgendered children" for showing a boy with his toenails painted pink. The latest J. Crew online catalog spotlights one of the clothing company's gay designers and his boyfriend. Good lord, and they're an interracial couple as well! Whatever next? J. Crew isn't commenting on the image, and for good reason—gay imagery is no longer really risqué in advertising, and apparently doesn't draw the ire of conservatives much anymore, more. For the record, Budweiser hasn't commented either.
