Google renders its logo in braille to honor Louis Braille, who would have been 197 years old today. Google Blogoscoped calls this “one of the more brave logos,” as the Google name is no longer readable for most visitors (though we doubt anyone’s really that confused). Clicking the logo initiates a search for the phrase “louis braille birthdate,” and the first link goes to Wikipedia. A search for “louis braille,” meanwhile, would have put the American Foundation for the Blind at the top of the search listings.
