Corzine outslugs Washington in apology-off

In the battle of the PSAs, Jon Corzine’s pro-seatbelt spot for the U.S. Department of Transportation handily beats Isaiah Washington’s anti-bigotry message for GLAAD in a unanimous decision. The New Jersey governor has the better lines (including the opener, “I’m New Jersey governor Jon Corzine, and I should be dead”), delivers them convincingly, actually comes close to saying he’s sorry, and hobbles off pathetically on his crutches at the end. The Grey’s Anatomy actor, meanwhile, comes across as wooden and insincere, doesn’t give any hint of personal shame or remorse, and even seems to smirk a little bit here and there.
