Comic goes to bat for the bitches and ho’s

Psa The Chicago Foundation for Women is chagrined this week after an actor it hired to appear in an anti-violence PSA turned out to be a comic whose favorite terms include “bitch” and “ho.” In the commercial, comedian Jay Parks says, “I have to change the way I talk.” But he doesn’t really mean that, at least as far as his standup act goes. “I think a lot of people find a lot of things offensive,” he tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “I’m an artist. I’m not making a contradictory statement. I don’t believe all of our people are beautiful. I don’t believe all white people are racist. I don’t believe all women are bitches.” That may not reassure the CFW, which says it wouldn’t have hired Park had it known about his act. Says a rep: “We need more men to understand that calling women bitches or ho’s is very offensive.”
