Catch Up Lady directs our attention to Clay Automotive’s surprisingly effective use of what’s normally the cheapest gag in comedy—the half-naked fat guy. This particular fat guy has decent timing and strips to illustrate a larger point, one delivered in an eloquent (if a bit long) monologue about how to avoid getting the high, hard one from car salesmen “cloaked in lies.” Interestingly enough, the roles are reversed on Clay’s Web site, where you get to dress the fat guy. Maybe they’re saying that despite their best intentions, we aren’t ready to be shown everything. Probably true.
