This AT&T ad from BBDO, promoting AT&T Next and the iPhone 5C, is a little confusing. "AT&T knows you don't want anything to come between you and your new iPhone," it says. In the video, a man misses his bus, a woman misses a work meeting, and a man stays late at a restaurant after it closes, all because they're enamored with their iPhones.

Isn't the point of smartphones that they're portable and convenient, and keep us connected to people who are important to us and makes us more productive? Is the five-ounce iPhone too heavy for the man at the bus stop to take on the bus with him? Is your home screen so awesome, woman missing your meeting, that you're content to jeopardize your job over it? Hey, guy at the restaurant, that iPhone can go home with you.
