Bulk-discount stores never looked so good

One of the better moments in Employee of the Month, Greg Coolidge’s comedy set in a bulk-discount retailer, comes when a shopper asks a severely far-sighted clerk (Andy Dick) if he’s staring at her cleavage, and he cops, “I don’t know.” Ask the filmmakers if they were ogling brand integration opportunities in the Albuquerque Costco, where they shot from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. for four weeks, and their response may be pretty similar. “We were so lucky to have a great set,” Coolidge enthuses in the production notes. The mega-chain that plays Employee’s “Super Club” was no doubt happy to oblige. (Image: Lionsgate)
