In the pantheon of celebrity motherhood, Britney Spears may the most overexposed. And she just became more so, thanks to Daniel Edwards, who has cast a life-sized statue of Britney—nude, pregnant and downward-doggie over a bearskin rug—as a pro-life monument. According to the artist, the reason why Brit was one of Google’s most searched for images is because “people are inspired by the beauty of a pregnant woman.” Maybe Edwards was blinded by his pro-life sentiments—the Manhattan Right to Life Committee donated dedication materials to the Brooklyn gallery showing the work—but one has only to page through a back issue of US Weekly or Star to know that pregnant Brit was just not pretty.
