It's shaping up to be a banner year for sheep in advertising. They've been shielded by Steven Seagal and embraced by Ron Jeremy. (It's tough to say which scenario was more disturbing.) Now, some farmer in England, blocked from placing billboards on a nearby highway, is touting his topsoil business by stenciling logos on a flock of sheep. "We just thought it would be different," the farmer says. Actually, a Dutch online travel firm did something similar a few years back. I almost wrote "baaack," but this farmer's antics have already generated enough baaad puns in the press. Besides, cows make better marketing vehicles when appealing to the herd mentality, because when you use sheep, a lone wolf can really eat into your CPMs.
