Brand makeovers of the future in ‘Idiocracy’

Idiocracy_starbucks Fuddrucker’s, Carl’s Jr. and Starbucks are among the brands that get a futuristic reimagining in Mike Judge’s movie Idiocracy, now out on DVD. The Speak Up blog reports: “Costco is the size of a small village and sells livestock, Carl’s Jr. is the sponsor of the government which is now run by a porn star, a faux Gatorade-like product has replaced water, and civilians (and the President of the U.S.A.) happily fire automatic weapons into the air in celebration—or to get someone’s attention.” Nice tagline for the energy drink: “the thirst mutilator.” Via Jason Kottke.
