Dean Winters nails the deer-in-the-headlights pose about halfway through this Leo Burnett spot for Allstate, right before a car nails him and he goes flying across the hood. You don't expect such stuff from this normally staid advertiser. In the "Mayhem is coming" campaign, Winters personifies bad things that could happen to your car—deer among them. (Hey, it's no party for the tick-infested quadruped, either.) The shot of the actor bleeding on the road after the collision, staring wide-eyed into the camera and laughing, has a subversive, almost David Lynch-like quality.
