This British teen safe-sex campaign might overestimate its target audience’s familiarity with 8-bit video games, but it does offer a surprisingly charming combination of Mega Man (the character sprites and map layout) and Super Mario Bros. (the beer bottles are based on the Mushroom Kingdom’s ridiculous warp pipe system). I can’t tell you how often a condom power-up would have been useful in my life. Unfortunately, as The Escapist points out, convincing teenagers not to be stupid is usually a waste of money, and this might not be a tactic that speaks to them as much as it does nostalgic twentysomethings like myself.
