Y&R Breaks Lincoln LS Campaign

DETROIT Ford Motor Co. introduces a new television campaign today for the 2003 Lincoln LS sports sedan from Young & Rubicam.

Two 30-second spots from the Irvine, Calif., agency break on ESPN and will also air on Saturday during NBC’s broadcast of the Players Championship golf tournament. The campaign first airs during prime time on Fox’s Boston Public on March 31.

To play up the vehicle’s powerful engine, one spot shows a Lincoln LS streaking across a long bridge, leaving a wake of water below big enough to entice nearby kayakers. The new campaign continues the divisional tagline, “There are those who travel, and those who travel well.”

The effort also includes print ads, which are appearing as one- to three-page executions in publications such as Esquire, Details, Fortune, Harper’s Bazaar, Fast Company, Architectural Digest and Golf Digest.
