YPB&R Hires Cunningham

A love of travel and a desire to move to the South’s warmer climes led Laurie Cunningham to Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell, which she has joined as evp of account management.

Cunningham, who oversees the Orlando, Fla.-based agency’s 30-member account team, has responsibility for the Marriott, South Hampton Princess and Travelweb accounts. She reports to managing partner Peter Yesawich.

Cunningham, most recently partner and worldwide management supervisor at OgilvyOne in New York, was referred by a friend to a classified ad for the post late last year. She was familiar with the agency’s extensive travel client roster—with hotel and resort accounts that include Allegro Resorts, The Breakers and Callaway Gardens—and had stayed at a client resort during her wedding in Cozumel, Mexico.

“YPB&R has a reputation for excellence in the travel industry,” Cunningham said. “This opportunity was perfect for me.” And while still acclimating to her new home—which gives her more opportunities to engage in her love of snorkeling but fewer chances to ski—she said, “I welcomed the opportunity to move to a warmer climate.”

Cunningham worked on marketing and interactive programs for Blue Marble and ACG before joining OgilvyOne in 1999. She took a year off from the shop starting in 2000 to work for Broadserve, an Israeli start-up, where she was director of marketing communications.

“Laurie Cunningham’s proven ability to successfully address the overall marketing and advertising needs of national and international clients adds considerable depth to our account-management capabilities,” said Yesawich in a statement.

YPB&R’s Orlando office has 134 staffers. The shop also has an outpost in Honolulu. —TRACY BOSTIC
