YouTube’s 10 Most-Watched Ads in October

They say nothing kills a bad product faster than good advertising. And perhaps that's the problem with Samsung's Galaxy Gear.

Outside of Oprah Winfrey, Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch isn't getting much love from critics, even though the ads for it, by 72andSunny, seem to be soaring.

Samsung placed two spots for the Galaxy Gear, including the top spot, on Adweek and Google's YouTube Ads Leaderboard for October, which ranks the most-viewed commercials (meaning significant organic views, vs. just paid) on the video site.

The gaming category also did well last month, with PlayStation and Xbox console ads barging into the top 10, along with NBA 2K14's Michael Jordan interview. Crest and Oral-B had the most popular Halloween ad, with "Halloween Treats Gone Wrong," while Pepsi MAX, Virgin America, Dodge Durango and DieHard batteries all cracked the list as well.

To be eligible for the YouTube Ads Leaderboard, videos must be marked as ads on YouTube (i.e., they get some paid views) but must also earn significant organic views.
