Xerox today appointed John Kennedy as vp and CMO, effective next week.

Kennedy comes from IBM, where he was vp, global business services, responsible for marketing and demand generation in the business services division. Before joining IBM in 1996, he worked at Procter & Gamble in a number of senior marketing, sales and strategy roles. He started his career at NationsBank.

Kennedy also serves on the boards of the National Association of Advertisers and the Business Marketing Association.
