Wieden + Kennedy London has been appointed the creative lead on Finlandia vodka in greater Europe and Africa, regions that account for more than 70 percent of the brand’s sales.
This is the agency’s second Brown-Forman brand: W+K also won a pitch for the company’s Maximus Vodka in February and, based on that work, was given Finlandia without a review. Spending was not disclosed.
Story Worldwide is Finlandia’s digital communications planning roster agency and W+K will work with that company in a new campaign which will initially launch in Poland and then roll out across Europe and Africa. There was no creative agency incumbent.
Less than two weeks ago, W+K London won one of the year’s most hotly-contested U.K. creative reviews when it picked up the country’s largest retailer Tesco, which spent about $172 million on marketing in 2011.
