LOS ANGELES Independent Wieden + Kennedy has named Tom Blessington managing director of its Portland, Ore., headquarters.
The position is new, and he will report to Dave Luhr, chief operating officer, starting on Sept. 5.
Blessington previously held the same title at Omnicom Group’s TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., where he worked on the shop’s flagship Nissan and Infiniti accounts. (Some of the personnel working on that business are moving to Nashville, Tenn., following the automaker’s move from Gardena, Calif.)
