MINNEAPOLIS – Wilsons The Leather Experts here and Chuck Ruhr Advertising, Minneapolis, parted ways late last week following a meeting in which the client and agency could not resolve essential ‘relationship’ issues, according to Ruhr president Louise Scroggins. Ruhr had been awarded the $3-4 million Wilsons account last June. Earlier in the month, Wilsons parted with Kauffman Stewart, also Minneapolis, on its Snyders stores account, according to vp/marketing Paul Tomlinson. Tomlinson said the company would handle advertising for Snyders in-house while evaluating its needs. Tomlinson could not be reached regarding plans for the Wilsons account, however sources have said the account will go into review. Not affected are Wilsons’ media-buying agencies.
