I check my phone. There's not really one social media app that I go to first. It's whatever my thumb clicks on—usually Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr. What's your favorite social media platform? I love Snapchat at the moment. I started out not really understanding the appeal and then got really sucked in. It's now one of the things I check throughout the day. The moment that they get more than five filters, I'm going to lose my mind. Who do you follow on Snapchat? I follow my friends, and I also really like looking at city stories. I lived in New York for about five years before I moved to L.A., and sometimes when I'm feeling really nostalgic about living there, I'll go through the New York snap story. It gives you this really wonderful, colorful, cultural image of one day in New York. It's really sentimental, in a way. When an app makes you feel emotional, that's a weird experience. [Laughs] Do you use any livestreaming apps? I have friends who have Periscope, but I have yet to use it myself. There's something about it being so completely raw that scares me a little bit. But I keep getting notifications on my phone that people in my contacts list—people that I would never think were tech savvy on any level—are Periscoping. Are there any celebrities you're a fan of on social media? I just found out that Yoko Ono is on Twitter, and she has an amazingly hilarious feed. It's like Cher's Twitter feed—it's accidentally ridiculous. By the way, Cher is also one of my favorite people on Twitter. I'm also a big fan of The Rock on Instagram. His feed is so weirdly inspiring and motivational! His captions are, like, mini self-help books. [Laughs] He's seemingly always working, so any time I feel tired or I'm procrastinating, that's when he'll post something on Instagram like, "You've gotta work harder every day!" or "It's not gonna happen to you, you've gotta make it happen!" It's like The Rock knows! What TV shows do you watch? I'm catching up on Ray Donovan right now, and I just finally finished Breaking Bad. I'm so behind. But I'm also such a sucker for The Real Housewives franchise. Do you have a favorite Housewives city? I kind of have to be loyal to my own state and say New Jersey, but I also love New York. I think that Sonja Morgan is one of the greatest comedians of our time. What's on your reading list? I want to read Paper Towns by John Green. I don't want to see the movie until I've read the book. I have Think Like a Freak on my bedside table, from the guy that did Freakonomics. Tell us about the new book that you're working on. It's called Grace & Style: The Art of Pretending You Have It. It's a tongue-in-cheek style guide. I've been doing a lot of "research"—like, I recently watched a video about a day in the life of Marc Jacobs' dog.
