Employers in the advertising, media and marketing fields appear to be satisfied with the number of warm bodies they’ve already got, judging by the volume of help-wanted classified ads in Adweek. In the chart’s year-to-date figures, you’ll see that just one region (the West) is on the plus side—by a grand total of 1 percent. Looking on the bright side, such as it is, we’ll note that three of the six regions produced positive numbers for May—an improvement over April, when every region was down.
