Last winter, we’d have drunk champagne to toast a month in which the volume of help-wanted ads in Adweek was down by just 1 percent. Double-digit drops were the norm. Now, it’s a sign of progress that one can feel a bit disappointed by last month’s downtick in our national total of job classifieds. The figure had risen in September and October. Still, November had its own hopeful signs, with four of the six U.S. regions showing help-wanted gains.
