SAN FRANCISCO–Online retailer The Wedding Channel has been talking informally with shops in California about handling its estimated $1 million ad account, said sources.
The Pasadena, Calif., company is looking to launch a national print campaign before the end of the year promoting its online retail shopping service and gift registry at www.theweddingchannel.com, said sources. The ads would run primarily in bridal magazines.
Started in mid-1997, The Wedding Channel allows couples to create personal Web pages through which wedding guests can purchase gifts. The site also offers “departments” filled with wedding-related items that can be searched by color, manufacturer or category. The client did not return phone calls.
